Bringing Amiga 2000 back to life
« on: January 16, 2015, 02:23:18 AM »
My buddy is bringing his 2000 back to life. Got a sticking point..... mouse tracking and left button do not work. Right button does work. What fault on the motherboard is a likely culprit?

Usually it's those little green fuses. I fixed a ton of those over the years.

I'm going to say something probably pretty dumb and obvious here, but have you tested out the mouse on another system?  Have you tested the system with a different mouse?  Can you confirm the mouse is working well?  Otherwise yes, probably those fuses!  ;)

Yeah, I should have gone there first too.

So like Mike says, start with the mouse itself.
Check the fuses.
Then swap the CIAs and see if it changes the symptoms.

It's very rarely worse than that.

Thanks, guys. Yes, mouse itself is known good. So we'll check the little fuses and CIA chips.
