try and keep away from FFS filesystems to avoid validation issues.. best to stick with PFS or SFS.
note - takes forever to run validation scan with disksalv on a 4GB cf with heaps of directories. :(

So which one is best if you are starting a fresh installation?

@Jeff doesn't really matter, PFS3 AIO has better salvage tools SFS is a litte bit faster.
I've used both and never ever had a problem with either one.

I am pretty sure that most of my Amigas have 20+ year old FFS partitions - EEK

Wouldnt you have to be on OS 3.5 or 3.9 with latest Boing Bags ?

Good question; I do not know but I believe you are correct as you need a source file to patch.

Have only ever tried classicwb.abime.net so far.
