Title: What Sid Chips to get for Catweasel MK4
Post by: theamigaman on June 11, 2015, 09:13:08 AM
Hey guys I have not been around much lately but I am trying to get back into the swing of things with my AmigaOne X1000. I have a Catweasel MK4 Card and was wondering what SID chips I should get for it? I see pics of both a 6581 and 8580 on the card on various pics on the net. Will this affect the sound? My question is should I get two 6581's OR two 8580's or is mix and match ok.

Thanks guys! :)

Two 6581's, as they're supposed to be the original and best. I'm no expert, but check there's no sub-revisions of the 6581 as you wouldn't want an unmatched pair.
