Title: ACA500 Problems
Post by: apsturk on November 16, 2014, 03:07:54 AM
Hello all,
I have 2 A500's and a few weeks ago got an ACA500. Both computers are NTSC and I have not opended them so I don't know the Rev #.  Amiga 500 #1 after putting the ACA500 into to side car slot,  will not power on. Amiga 500 #2 will power on but I just get a white screen. I left the jumper as sent from amigakit and also moved it around and no change. I have run out of ideas other than something I just read that said that NTSC Amiga 500's are not supported. Is that true (never saw that before, hope I did not wast my $$) and any ideas. Thank :)

Well the first thing to do would be to find out the revision number of your motherboards. you're going to have to take them apart to find out. unless we know that, no one can even begin to start helping you diagnose the problem.

You most likely need a Torx No. 10 screwdriver or bit. Easy to open, and the revision number is plainly written on the motherboard.

I share your pain. I have an ACA500 I have been unable to use because it apparently does not work with NTSC Rev 5 boards. As far as I know, these are the most common revision boards in the U.S.

I need to find and buy a Rev 6 NTSC board.

Well I will check the Rev # and see from there. I was unaware that Rev 5 NTSC bords are not supported when I sent $$. Your correct the most common bord is the US??  Will there be a film/flash update that will correct this?

Perhaps this post indicates some hope...
