Hello!
Just a little quick question. I recently got hold of the Elbox FastATA IDE-controller, but for some reason it can't seem to find the devices I attach to it.
I figured it might have something to do some hardware being broken, but then on the other hand... the internal IDE-controller works fine, and the FastATA is brand new.
People I've taked to are asking me if the drivers are installed correctly, but how on earth can I install the drivers when I can't find the harddrives attached at all?
Am I missing out on something, 'cause I really doubt I'm having to do with a Catch 22 here! Shouldn't the harddrives work at once when attached to the controller if they are pre-formated and have Workbench installed on them? When connected to the internal IDE-controller they boot up just fine.
If someone knows anything about this issue, please help me out.
Thanks already!

The drivers are on the floppy which should come with the Power Flyer.
If you don't have any software(drivers) installed, the PF merely acts
as a single IDE controller on the Primary port.
If you don't have the floppy you're in schtuk!

JaXanim: I guess you didn't read what I wrote.
The problem is that it doesn't find the harddrives, not that I don't have the drivers.
I just found out that it has to do with the Gayle-chip. Some revisions of the A1200 has problems with a weak signal from the Gayle-chip, and that is what my problem seems to be.
If I connect a 2.5" HD to the 2.5" port on the FastATA it works sometimes, but a 3.5" doesn't work at all, yet.
I guess there is nothing for me to do but to find a another A1200 motherboard with a good Gayle-chip.

I have just got my powerflyer up and running
again the first hard drive 2.5" does not need
any software to run i then managed to get
the cd running once i had insalled the drivers
check that the driver is picking up the
drives by workbench/prefs (show all files)
double click on ATA3.Prefs file and execute
updated drivers which i need you can get
them from www.elbox.com

Well, the thing is that it doesn't take the first 3.5" master at all. It won't boot, it won't find it, it won't work at all.
It is not a driver issue, it is a Gayle issue. My motherboard is simply not fit for the FastATA.
