Title: Amikit on Ubuntu
Post by: swift240 on May 09, 2011, 06:00:44 PM
Hi every one, well not being on the Amiga scene for a while suffering 2 strokes, I am now on recovery so back to a question I made a ling while ago.

I use Ubuntu 11.04 classic Ubuntu, I am trying to find a way of use Amikit but so far the only way to use Amikit is a bit long winded I use VirtualOSE and Windows XP and then Amikit ok this works very well I have to say but it would be so nice if I did not have to do that.
Every time I try to run the Amikit script it goes to a shell and then after a few seconds nothing it closes down.
So has any one any ideas so to how to get Amikit running on Ubuntu 11.04

Mike.

You have Windows XP running on VirtualBox running on Ubuntu.  Do you have WinUAE running on Windows?

Easiest way would be to copy the WINUAE folder to your home folder on Ubuntu, then install wine by

aptitude install wine

Then type at the terminal

wine WINUAE.exe

You may have to alter a few paths in the configuration file.

Do you have Amiga Forever?
