Those files look pretty old to me, so any card that's been sold the last few years should already have the latest version on them. Or not ?!?

I suspect no new Prism-II cards were manufactured after that time (2003). I haven't heard of anyone finding a Prism-II card with WPA-capable firmware already installed.

Is it me or WEP no longer works with this version? (installation only asks for WPA key. I tried setting it manually)

WEP should still work (but in most cases you'd be better off using the old version of the driver). Did you follow the example of setting a WEP key in the manual?

@mfilos

Unlike graphics cards, wireless network cards don't have a BIOS, so that isn't an issue. If the card is hardware compatible with the PCI busboard, the driver should work under OS4.

There will probably never be support for Prism-II USB adapters, but I might port my Realtek 8187B 802.11g driver from AROS to OS3.x.

Well the netgear ma401 [rev. D V2.5], which i bought in 2008, should atleast have a newer version than the one you advise:

http://linux.junsun.net/intersil-prism/firmware/1.7.4
pk010101.hex 02-Jul-2003 01:38 16K
sf010704.hex 02-Jul-2003 01:38 171K

Or am i wrong here ? Can't see which version is on the card, as i don't have a pcmcia slot in the pc.

Does the card or its packaging say that it was manufactured in 2008 too? If not, I still think it left the factory about 5 years before you bought it. :)
