I had my 1084S monitor fixed at my local TV repair shop Wacketts, here in Newcastle. They knew straight away what was wrong, and had a compatible part. So try your local TV/aerial type repair shop for Commodore monitor repairs.
Power supply bricks are best replaced by a PC power supply and adapter cables from Amigakit for example.

Very cool Cammy!

I added a perma link to the Amiga section of my Star Wars Legacy page...

...which btw is way over due for an update! :)

Anyhow, here's the link and for the note, there are a few guys on Atariage.com that do service work on the Amiga as well. Sloopy and MetalHead come to mind, both from the U.S.

In this thread or others?  Were these posts from before the migration to the new database?

[UPDATE] VOXEL (JFB), the french repairman, is no longer available for computers repairing.
Based on the findings and evidence,, he does not respond to all messages on the French forums (also my msg!), it does not respond to phone and no longer heard from him and about the AMIGA computers&cards that have been sent to him.
He was seen on a forum, some time ago.

I am thinking to ask him to give it back to me and go to another place. It has been more than 3 months!

So let me add to the thread.

Some months ago I started up an IT business with a bunch of other guys, specializing in IT for hospitals, but as we are two who likes amiga, me most :), and have experience with electronics, we want to try and help with repairs of old equipment. We can't promise anything, but we would like to try. So far all we have done with some A1200 and 600 are retrobrite and cleaning.
We do have the propper lab equipment for electronics.

Apparently two different French repair centers? Voxel by Jean François Bachelet, and Amiga Repair Center by Jean-Jacques Boulet.

I don't want to go into business offering an Amiga repair service, but if someone local asked me to take a look at a problem for them I'd be amenable to that.
AH.

Same here for Montreal, QC area.  I do general electronic repairs and had quite a good experience on various Amiga boards.  I'm not free but i'm not gonna charge full price for a fellow amigan :)

What it the nearest repair option for a Norwegian Amigan like me?

3000(recap, mouseport pins, battery corrosion, new battery), 4000(recap, lost audio channel, gfx errors, not booting from CySCSI hd, battery corrosion, new battery, bad kb), 3640(recap, v3.2(?) upgrade), 2000 powersupply (and 2 2000s without ps that probably need TLC - but 1800km away from here).
I kinda got spooked powering them up after looking at the repair videos...

Repairmen,  That's a bit sexist Cammy.. Repairers?  A good idea just the same.

Are you kidding me? Do you know of one female amiga tech in the world?

Oh and I had an a3640 that was repaired by Amiga Repair Center in france and they seemed to do a good job and responded to email too.
