A1200 and "Hi-Tek" keyboards
« on: January 04, 2024, 05:31:16 PM »
Hello,

I have been given an A1200 with the original keyboard. There is a missing key (the left Amiga key), and the contactor for this key seems broken.
As I own an old A500 with an excellent "Hi-Tek" keyboard (AKA "Space Invaders" keyboard I think ...), I bougth an adapter for A500 keyboards.

But I have a problem : the HI-TEK keyboard has, on the top left, the 2 leds (power and floppy) which prevent to put the A1200 cover on it.
I can disassemble the leds from the A1200 cover, but then the screws sticks still touch the Hi-Tek keyboard, preventing me to install the cover correctly.
So I guess I can break the 2 screws sticks on the cover, even if I do not like to break original things, but then the 2 leds of the Hi-Tek keyboard would not come in front of the holes on the cover (on the Hi-Tek keyboard they are positioned more on the right side, only the left half of the leds can be seen in the holes).

So does anyone have already put an A500 "Hi-Tek" keyboard into an A1200 ?
If yes, how did you proceed ?
If no, did anyone put any other kind of good mechanical keyboard ? If yes, which one ?

Thanks !
