It was great to see an Amiga 1000 in Season 4 of Stranger Things even with the weird green and black colour scheme for the Workbench GUI! I'm glad it gave you 22 years of service! Welcome to Amiga.org. I'm sorry it's a bit sleepy here of late!

Hi everyone!

I'm new here! - I started using the Amiga when I was a kid, we had an Amiga 1000. After almost 22 years of faithful service, our A1000 died and my Dad recycled it. I now have an A500 which I have put in an ATX case. I got the motherboard and power supply which was (unknown condition) and I ended up getting it working and it is now in a semi-vintage ATX tower.

My name is Josh, but everyone calls me either Zvend or Polar Bear (That's my nick name)... If anyone wants to know why I'm called that, I'm happy to tell the story  :)

Looking forward to my time here!

The DVD Amiga37 has been available in the online shop of APC&TCP and Amiga dealers since last Christmas.

Since it is now known that the Amiga 38 Show will take place in October, now is actually the perfect time to order the DVDs. :)

The Amiga37 DVDs release is actually two (2) pressed data DVD9 discs with the following content:

Almost all of the proceeds go to the organiser of the Amiga38, in order to support the financing of future events more easily.

"Powerful painter for Gfx cards" is perhaps a hint? Or do you have a graphics card in your A1200?

EDIT: I tested PfPaint on the MiST...
V2.93 only lets me pick RTG modes, works fine and with 16bit 800x600 and 1024x768 P96 modes.
V1.2 also lets me pick native mode, and starts, but appears to be very buggy and hangs easily.

Happy Saint Patty’s Day, C= and Ami comrades!
The next meeting of the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network is Saturday, March 18, from 2 to 5+ p.m. at

    Panera Bread Restaurant
    19662 Nordhoff Street
    Northridge, California
    (818) 407-9400

The April 1 Los Angeles Maker Faire and the April 15-16 Commodore Los Angeles Super Show are almost here!  I’m filming a CLASS presentation in Fresno on Thursday, March 16, and then on Friday, March 17, I’ll be filming at Vasquez Rocks for this year’s CLASS commercial!  If I seem tired at the meeting, it’s probably because I am!  :)
In hardware I will bring the Mega65 (Commodore 65 replica), and we’ll try out some of its C65 and C64 features.  Also I will bring the Amiga 1200 with Blizzard ‘060 50 MHz. accelerator, 128 megs of Fast RAM, OS 3.9, and newly-installed Arcade Game Selector II.  If there is any leftover time, we can look at some of the latest programs running on the Ultimate 64.
As always, feel free to bring any other Commodore and Amiga hardware/software that you wish to show off!

         Robert Bernardo
Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network -

P.S. The weather stopped several of us from attending the January meeting, but this time from the late Matt Brewster, we may have some of his computer hardware on display.

Hi All, Just downloaded PerfectPaint from Aminet. No install
program. When I launch it I get the startup screen and it ask me
to chose a "Screen Mode," when I click on the button to open the
requester nothing happens. If I try to click on go it says "Please
choose a screen mode." Any idea how I can resolve this issue. I am
runing OS3.2.1 on My Amiga A1200 TF1260, 128mgs of ram.
Appreciate any help I can get.

if it is from disk you could try it with another copy or maybe from another drive. also you could check what happens when you just start "rogue -s".

I just tested the exact same .adf on my real A1000 and it works fine.

@ denis2342
A500, Rev3-512 chip 512 fast but ACA500+ accelerator adds 8MB fast and kick3.1 running OS3.1. I tried running it kick 1.3 and WB1.3 with the ACA500+ and same thing so must be an issue with the ACA500+?

Can you be more specific on the hardware and OS details.

My only real hardware where I can test it is an A1000 with 68010 and 2MB fastram and kick 40.63. Development is on FS-UAE.
