Important C64 3D graphics card mod | ||

Description: For any owners of a C64 3D graphics card, I suggest that you consider heat-sinking the two Lattice chips, as in the picture. Espicially the chip under the left hand side of the heat sink can run painfully hot!

rkauer Posts:3263 | February 08, 2007, 12:26:38 AM Same thing with the original Alice/Lisa. I put some heatsinks over the chips and the flickering pixels just goes away.... |
Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | August 23, 2006, 03:05:06 PM Btw...I've had the machiene running for a few hours the other day and the heat sink does make a difference! Oddly enough, when I noticed the IC's running hot, the drivers for the board wern't even installed - So the board wasn't actually doing anything! |
Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | August 23, 2006, 02:46:34 PM Scandoubler question: Hmmm. No sync. Since i have never seen a circuit diagram for one, the only thing i could say that could be causing that is a bad connection somewhere on the sync line - Maybe a pin on a chip has lifted off of the pad, connector dry joint, faulty cable plugged in, could be anything. Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | August 23, 2006, 02:42:22 PM The wires on the right hand side go to the video switcher board. The wires were long enough to allow the board to be photographed, so I diddn't bother unplugging them. Btw...Im thinking of making a LED display and force state switch for the video switcher eventually. |

keropi Posts:2466 | August 23, 2006, 09:42:48 AM what is that patch wire? and what about the wires on the pins upper right? |
snowman040 Posts:100 | August 22, 2006, 10:20:18 PM Do you have any idea what can go wrong with ScanDoubler module ? It's giving some output but it's out of sync.. ? |
FrankBrana Posts:178 | August 22, 2006, 09:34:35 PM Mmmm what does the switch in the jumpers reserved for factory messing? |
