Laptop trackerball on PS/2 | ||

Description: Heres a old trackerball unit that I salveged from a mac laptop (The laptop was totally dead), and I wondered if I could re-use it. After having no luck as to what any of the connections on the board did, I decided to cut a few tracks here and there and wire the opto encoders up to a basic PS/2 mouse IC...Hey presto! A working trackerball! I've also posted a close up photo of the modifications on the base of this unit. Hodgkinson Posts:1080 | December 14, 2007, 04:22:08 PM Why not? :-) I had the trackerball unit, a scrap PS2 mouse, and an internet PC with little room for a mouse to go at the side. Im using the trackerball right now ;-) AAMOF, I've been and got another trackerball unit from a radio rally that I might rig to one of my A1200s one day. Hodgkinson. |
