I think you used very bad example. If the band has no confidence to sell tickets it probably should quit playing.

You're oversimplifying a complex ecosystem.

Yeah there is a special type of person that knows what they don't like, but not what they like.  Applies to many things not just analogy bashing.

LOL.  So they sent out an email to all backers saying "Additional tickets are now available for purchase!"  with a web address link to buy them.  I seriously had already hit Ctrl+C to copy, and was about to Ctrl+V paste the information into here, when I read the line about "First, this information is not for public release."

GAAAAAH.

Life is short.  I don't know why people intentionally do things to make it so much more difficult, LOL.

Thanks for not posting that message!

I'm working to have a large update for Friday that will bring everyone up to speed on where we are.

Cheers,

I just booked.

Look for the ASDG or Elastic Reality jacket (whichever one still fits).

Got into town early today and already had a great time visiting the NASA Ames Research Facility right up the street from the hotel.  I'm a big NASA geek, probably almost as big as I am an Amiga geek, haha.  ;)

So what're all you party people up to before the event?  I might hit up SanFran, the bridge, the Hornet museum, or maybe drive down the coast a little ways and visit the Monterey Aquarium.  I lived there as a kid but was too young to enjoy any of it, you know how that goes.  ;)

I really didn't think I'd be able to make it out here, my office called twice, once while I was still over Texas, and the second time before I even left the SJC terminal.  Apparently everything is falling apart and I'm not even gone 24 hours, yet.  Oh well, as they say in IT Crowd, I'm just going to respond to all their calls with "Did you try turning it off and back on again?"  :D

Shame I don't think very many people going to the event are members of this forum?  Oh well, I guess I will just be talking to myself, but that's nothing new!

"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here."

Definitely!  Was already taking pics all around the NASA place today.  Including one totally jet-lagged selfie.  ;)  It was a tough call, did I want to look like a dork and wear my Orion shirt to visit the NASA place, or an even bigger dork and wear my "Endurance: Space Exploration" (from the movie Interstellar) shirt?  The latter won out.  Also check out this awesome computer they had there.  ;)

I'm not a beer drinker, but the menu looks promising.  I'm game.  Like you I'm three hours ahead, so "dinner time" for me is 4pm local time (right after check-in,) but a 7pm-ish meet-up would be good fourth-meal time.

Let's make it an unofficial gathering for anyone who wants to come out.  Could be fun!

I'm gonna to make myself conspicuous: I'll be wearing a black Futurama shirt with the "Slurm" logo.  And probably the only guy wearing jean shorts.

Until then, I landed with a terrible headache so I'm going to drug up and sleep it off.
