I wonder how many PC gamers know what they owe Amiga gaming
Actually quite a few. Obviously many ex-Amigans are now PC owners, but also magazine writers still acknowledge the Amiga for previous versions of new games and every time a new C&C is released one of the most common statements in a review is
.."RT Strategy series that started with Dune II on the Amiga.."
Dune II is acknowledged as the forefather of the Real Time Strategy, just as Populous is often acknowledged as the forefather of God Games.
PC Gamer, PC Zone and ofcourse PC Format are the most common culprits for Amiga references, CGW is another.
Linux Format hosts a number of ex Amiga Format and Amiga Shopper writers - just stick one of your favourite writers from defunct Amiga mags into a Google search and often you'll see which magazine they're working for now.
