Title: FFplay SVN-r22209 for AmigaOS 3.x (68040 build)
Post by: ami_stuff on March 04, 2010, 06:05:22 PM
Hello,

I compiled the latest FFplay for myself and decided to release it.

Changes:

* updated to the latest SVN
- no move a/v sync problems when enough CPU power is available
- new decoders: Bink, IFF ILBM, Indeo 5, WMA Voice

* added support for more error messages in the WB mode

* fixed a few bugs

Enjoy :afro:

Hi and thanks.

Could you add support for delfinampg.device?

I wonder how low video/audio quality should be that 060 could display video and audio with decent speed? Delfinampg.device would recuce cpu usage.

This will not help.

You may try to play your video with "-an" flag to test if you get video playback at the full speed (i'm sure not). The problem is that FFplay doesn't have a good frame skipping alghoritm. Maybe this will change in the future, so you will see a nice in-sync slideshow with audio enabled.

Word of warning:

IF you have real amiga, don't bother t try this

I really would prizieid is porters could add requirements / target audience to their ports.

Why it is so stressful to do anything for Amiga :)

Yes your 50MHz monster is too slow to play videos at the decent speed without frame skipping and as you can read this is 68040 build, so it's optimized for 68040/WinUAE, not for 68060, so for example mpegaudio decoder is totally unusable (because of the speed) on the real 68060 :)

You should tell this the guys who made the Videos.because there are more than 160*120 Pixel videos here, its a problem for classic.

but you can watch at full speed on a classic 3gp Videos, maybe in grey.

decoding sound cost only few 5-7% in compare to decode Video. So even if spend much work to use delfna device, you cant play videos with higher resolution.

because 50 MHZ are slow, there are also HD Videos here, that are also too slow on 1,5 GHZ CPU.you need for this a GFX Card that help for decoding, something all amigaland not have.
