A4000 problem
« on: December 12, 2007, 10:23:34 PM »
Hi,
My recently purchased A4000 has an interesting problem. The right mouse button usually won't bring down the top menu on Workbench (when I first got it, it would work sometimes). I tried:
1) A new mouse
2) A different hard drive (OS 3.1 instead of 3.5)
3) Cleaning area around battery (I thought this fixed it, worked for a day or two)
The keyboard equivalent (right Amiga+Alt) still works so the unit is usable. Has anyone else had this problem?
Len

Maybe the connector needs to be soldered.
I recently had this problem on another amiga.
I soldered the 9 pins on the motherboard, and now it works :-)

I'll check into that, I tried wiggling the connector with no results and I didn't want to tear it too far apart. :-)

What is the audio like?

If the mouse port has problems and the sound is a bit dodgy it can be an indication of a broken Paula.
