I'm not sure why folks are being so down & negative about this? Seems pretty cool to me!

I think it's great, a 32bit CPU and 32bit Fast RAM all on a redesigned board which you can swap out of a stock A500. Hard to find accelerators for old Amiga machines these days. Most are 030 A1200 boards on ebay if that, some people even list RAM expansions as accelerator cards hmmmm naughty.

The only thing is personally I prefer IDE, simple and with a 7200 RPM notebook drive would fit nicely inside the case and still be faster than the motherboard would ever require, even seeking small files.

Please ignore any and all negative comments as that is an awesome project! I've got an unrepairable dead A500+ that I was given many years ago that I'd happily donate to such a project!

Looking at that image, it looks like the OCS/ECS chips are to be transplanted from an existing A500/500+. That's not quite so easy to do on your AGA A1200 where the custom chips are all SMD.

iv done it here on one of my motherboards, most of my A1200 chips have sockets including the very small 20 pin chip to the bottom left on the motherboard.

FREESCALE MC68EC020AA25 ( 25Mhz ) fitted to motherboard awaiting to find if there`s a possible hack.

Very nice ambitious project. Its really nice to see somebody working on a brand new motherboard for A500/+ machines.

I wonder if it would be possible to create a similair board for A500/+ or even A1200 etc.. which would incorporate a 68030, LAN network, CF/SD reader, built-in IDE or Sata controller, DDR ram sockets and perhaps some sort of SD/FF and maybe even a local mini-pci type slot which can take for example a RTG.

Once again a reminder:

I'm not doing the design, nor the decisions on production.
As said in the first post, the 1st prototype will be Netherlands only!
If the 2nd version comes out, it may, repeat MAY go international, but all decisions are up to Amiga-Digital for that.

Great project. But why a SCSI controller? IDE is easier to implement and will more easily allow the use of a CF based Hard Drive with kickstart 2.05 or greater the drivers are builtin for IDE support.  Try getting a SCSI CF Reader... Expensive... SCSI is an ancient technology and a relatively expensive one these days... Otherwise looks like a great project...

Some people allready noticed it .... it IS the GBA1000 design.
Amiga-Digital used Georg Brauns free Eagle-Files and changed the PCB to fit in the A500-case.
You can call it GBA500 ... a CDTV or A600 could be COOL!
:D

As of now he's testing the board, so far no life, but seems to be a problem with the tick signal.

I have just two question.
When can I get one to replace my dead-due-battery-leakage A500+ mobo;
Secondly, what will be the cost, if it can be seen more clearly? (Possibly this was answered but I haven't read all the comments ;P)

You probably are better off buying an A500 plus again.
The project is Netherlands only so far and this board didn't do anything so it was back to the drawing board, Amiga-Digital is now designing it in modules, so something like Natami and the old Cyberstorm MKI.
When that works it will be made a full board like the one above.
If the alpha and beta testing goes well for us maybe then you will have a shot.
