Wouldn't that be the Mac Mini silent upgrade

No, the Mac Mini can't run OS9 natively. There's the Classic emulation if you keep it on 10.4, though.

I think there's a 1.25GHz G4 tower that does native OS9.

Here's a video I shot some time ago. It shows my PowerBook G4 system booting up the MorphOS 3.0 (development branch):

PowerBook-G4-MorphOS-3-sneak-preview.mp4

Please note that this isn't official confirmation of any kind. A lot of support infrastructure for laptop usage is still missing, as well as some drivers.

PS. Sorry for the poor video quality.
PPS. We don't need any beta testers for the PowerBook version for now.

Any chance this one will be supported? http://www.esecon.ch/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=12&products_id=49

I would much rather run MorphOS on it instead of OSX.

I'd say not a chance.

Wow, I can't believe it's almost been 2 years since this was posted. That's Amiga time for you.

Well 18 months, or 1.5 years.

@fransexy

Go back to the 1st post of this thread, reread what Piru wrote and then tell me you don't see the difference to "you don't have to wait till summer".
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Take all the time you want Piru. I know you guys don't put stuff out until it's top notch. I was just pointing out how long things can take in the Amiga world since most of the projects are sometimes done by just one person.

Round(1.5) = 2
When was the last time someone told you "one point five years since I did this"?
S/he says 1 or 2 years.

P.S. Rumours about MOS on Powerbook
That thread is from January 2009. That's 2.5 years (3 years rounded).
Bigfoot is part of the MOS team or some random lurker?

AFAIK it has *never* been officially announced that a PowerBook version *would ever* be released. No release date was *ever* formally announced. If I'm wrong, please correct me by giving the communicated release date I must have missed?

No. Yet some people calculate just how "delayed" it is?

I find that strange.

And then we have exactly the same people defending a behavior of announcing a product, collecting *pre-payments*(!!!), and then showing no real signs of progress on the delivery for 1.5 years. **And counting**!!!
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

What I find strange by the MOS advocates is that if it will not come (or is it not available yet), why people like Kronos advocate the advantage of MorphOS being able to run on laptop machines (and G5 machines as well) while in fact it does not exist for public consumption?
On the other hand they point that X1000 is not released yet, but forget that the Sam460 is available for purchase?
As fas as I know the MorphOS is developed by bunch of enthusiasts, who are not acting as a development company, so anything posted on forums or their blogs is kinda semi-official announcement.

Pretty much like Hyperion and A-EON then. With the difference that Hyperion/A-EON made a very bombastic and overly hyped *three day long* announcement of the product, giving you the feeling that it was about to be released, followed by some comments that it was 3 months away (or whatever), then before summer, then after summer, then before christmas, and then... silence. A bombastic carrot-dangling scheme to collect Pre-Payments. That's obviously what it was about, fundraising for production (or even worse - finishing the development(?)).

The MorphOS team simply don't do that.

You can't claim that the PowerBook release is late. There has never been any release date communicated. People has been actively dissuaded by the MorphOS team from buying hardware of which support hasn't been properly announced. This goes for PowerBook. And the G5 as well. I'm sorry, but it's simply not possible for you to twist this around, the publicly available facts are overwhelming.
