Title: A May month offer from GGS-Data !
Post by: GGS on May 05, 2005, 10:29:24 PM
We have some Pegasos II G4 1GHz complete systems that we now offer to a very reduced price !

The machines is fully equipped in nice cases with 80GB harddrive, CDRW, Radeon 9200SE graphicsboard, 256MB Ram (DDR 266), keyboard (Logitech UltraX Flat (or similar) + Logitech wheelmouse, manuals (english + german included). Installed as you request, MorphOS and/or Linux of your choice.

We also supply with a more silent and long life time ADDA-fan for cooling of the CPU.

In addition and also without any extra cost, we include a nice Pegasos mousepad.

Price, Pegasos II G4 complete system, SEK 6000:-, or euro 655:- + shipping to your place.

Its very close the price you normally pay for only the motherboard, but instead you get a complete ready to start system.

Machines have been used for review and is new, 12 months guarantee.

Take the chance, as long stock last.

Please contact us for more information using our webpage, www.ggsdata.se or contact, gunne@ggsdata.se

Welcome !

I just have to say some words about GGSdata. To be honest, GGSdata is infact one of the best amigashops out there. It´s not only about selling, but a good friendship aswell.

Without GGSdata, Amitopia and certain other magazines, would have died a long time ago.

GGSdata know what they are doing. If there is a place where you should buy a PegasosII or AmigaONE system. Then GGSdata is really a good choice. They´re support and kindness is what GGSdata wins on. They respond to any questions thru mail, forums and even irc, makes it a bit special.

GGSdata is how lots of other Amiga companies should have been. A consumer friendly shop, which takes care of you as a human, not like a robot. And thats what Amiga is about,... Isn´t it? To share knowledge, to be something different, to show something cool and impressive, a community.

I wish GGSdata all the best into the future! If I didn´t allready have a PegasosII, this offer would be great for sure.

Keep it going on GGSdata, you do a fantastic job and I hope that you will be here with us amiga users in a long, long time into the future.

Regards,
Michal, www.amitopia.no

I'm glad to hear about a good amiga dealer having some stock available...and in U.S. dollars that what about 850 dollars, not a bad price for a 1gh g4 tower, new.  There is not equivalent in the Mac world...a tower would be $1499 new, and be a 1.8ghz G5.

So, good job all around.  A mac mini, switching back to euro's, is less at 500 something...

but again, if you need MorphOS the mac mini isn't going to work.  If you need any kind of modern software, then the pegasos won't work for you.

this is the type of offer that would tempt me to purchase though...just ashame that I'm not being tempted at a weak moment (honestly I though I would have bought one a long time ago, but but like a marriage going bad, we've never reconciled at the same time.... :-o  :-o  :-o  ok I admit that reference was pushing it....)

Great offer!

Slap AROS (http://www.aros.org/download.php) for excitement.  :-D And of course the option of multibooting into other OSs.

Sorry for replying to an off-topic post.

Gunne:

I'm not Marktime, but I think I can answer this:

-An office suite compatible with MS Office (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation)

-A Web browser that supports JavaScript (fully), Java, and CSS

-Print drivers for current inkjet and laser printers

-Citrix client for remote desktop to work

-Tool to sync data to Pocket PC / Palm

-Personal information Manager (calendar, todo, contacts)

-E-mail application that supports reading and writing e-mail in HTML

-WYSIWYG HTML editor

and the list goes on...

#  I'm not Marktime, but I think I can answer this:

Yes, you are welcome.

Some suggestions below.

-An office suite compatible with MS Office (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation)

Open Office ?

-A Web browser that supports JavaScript (fully), Java, and CSS

Mozilla, firefox ?

-Print drivers for current inkjet and laser printers

CUPS, Turboprint ?

-Citrix client for remote desktop to work

Dont know exactly what you thinking about here, but there is remote desktop clients available for MorphOS, AmigaOS & Linux.

-Tool to sync data to Pocket PC / Palm

Here is also software available for AmigaOS, MorphOS & Linux. But dont remember the names right now.

-Personal information Manager (calendar, todo, contacts)

KDE's kontact ?, and there is also software for AmigaOS & MorphOS to find.

-E-mail application that supports reading and writing e-mail in HTML

Thunderbird ?

Im myself using email client in MorphOS for reading HTML-mails, works good. Not for writing though.

-WYSIWYG HTML editor

Quanta+ ?

and the list goes on...

Yup...

I understand that we might talk little around each other here, or how to say.

However, what I would like to try bring forward is that there is options in addition to Windows in computing.

Linux is a good option. MorphOS and/or AmigaOS perhaps not so good option.

But please remember Im not trying to say there is options to find in Linux, AmigaOS or MorphOS in every aspect, because I know there isn't. It depends on what you are after or looking for. However saying there is no modern software for the Pegasos I do consider little bit too hard to say. The Pegasos PowerPC computer is also a stable, powerful and good working computer platform for very many tasks.

Is it just me or does slecting USD still give you SEK dollar amounts.  I have no idea what this would cost in US currently, making it very hard to decide if I want one or not.

DFergATL:

Do not understand what you mean.

I could not find any fault in changing currency right now.

We have to update the exchange rate. However have to write little more information also, as choosing currency only is aimed for giving an estimate in another currency for now, as exchange rate changes on daily/hourly basis.

Today SEK 6000,- is equal USD 840,-
