Hi all. 40 something old Norwegian here. Got my start with an Amiga 500 way back when. I think maybe 1988. That soon grew with 512kb extra RAM and an extra 3 1/2 inch floppy drive. Which I still got.
Come late 1992, I sold it to free up some cash to get the new A4000/040 in early 93. That machine served me well for many years. It got close to 2000 before I went ahead and bought a PC. Still used the Amiga on occasion, but its' use dwindled.
Now it (and the accompanying CBM 1942 14" CRT) have been sitting powered off for at least 13-14 years. Opened up the Amiga the other day, and discovered it have had a battery-leak. Doh! So it won't be powered up quite yet.
I will restore it though. So I figured I'd register here to tell the tale of how the restoration is going. Perhaps I'll add a few bells and whistles to it along the way. I'm sure I'll get a CF reader for it at least.
Anyway, I am awaiting a few tools and parts. Once those are in house, I'll get to writing up the situation report of the Amigas' current state, and what I intend to do to it. In a nice step by step fashion.
I am no stranger to the soldering iron, besides it'll be fun
