Hello from Scotland!
« on: January 22, 2008, 10:42:42 AM »
Hi everyone, i've just stumbled upon your forums, i've been a big fan of the Amiga from the early days.
My first Amiga was a A500+ -i had some great gaming moments on that machine- loved Project X, Magic Pockets, Super Frog, Alien Breed, Chaos Engine - i could go on all day.
I then moved on to the A1200- I still have mine- i've went out and got a Blizzard 030 accelerator so i could play Alien Breed 3d on it- what a difference!
Anyway- i've been following the Amiga on and off since then.
My current Amiga set up consists of
A1200 + 128 meg Sim + Blizzard 040 + 720 meg hard drive + Picasso graphics thingy.

I also have my old amiga 1200 + 32meg Sim + Blizzard 030 + 120 meg hard drive

oh and a A500 + 1/2meg upgrade
and a CD32

I've also got various bits and pieces of Amigas lying about for spares too.

Its a fantastic computer -loved the gaming side of it- got to grips with AMOS and Blitz Basic - and I still fire the old machine up for the odd game of Tower Assault.

Luckily I have a very understanding wife who doesn't mind all my computing stuff lying around- i have a small room in  my house to keep it all together and ready to play- whenever i get a few spare minutes.

Ez Navvarr, welcome to Amiga.org, this is a great place and you will meet some really nice people.  Sounds like quite a wicked set up you have and a very nice wife.  Funnily enough my wife is fine about the Amiga stuff too but not about Playstation or anything else lol lol

Oh yes and hello from Japan!

Im from Glasgow- or Bearsden to be more precise.

Hello to everyone else- seems a friendly place!

-i'm always on the lookout for interesting Amiga related stuff- i used to subscribe to Amiga Format (remember that mag) -but then it folded.

So, i'll check out the forums and post when i can if i feel i've anything noteworthy to contribute.

Here is a link to my retro- collection- as you can see i collect most games consoles- not just Amiga.

Greetings from I, Tripitaka, High Priest of Great Cthulhu and welcome to Amiga.org

I hope you enjoy your time with us before The Great Old Ones come from beyond to eat your soul.  :-D    :-D

I used to live in Scotland too, Peterhead to be exact....I used to wake up in the morning to the smell of fish and pickle.....take a stroll along the seaweed encrusted rocks that locals called a beach....and take in the sights of Peterhead.....mostly seagulls the size of Pteradon's and the maximum security prison....ahh....such times.
Falling into a dark and red rage.

The Vic20 was my first computer I ever owned- I loved programming it in Vic Basic and even mastered a bit of Machine code.

Favourite games on the Vic were Jetpac, Lazer Zone, Matrix, Vic Panic and Dodo Lair.

-ah -happy memories!

The Vic was my first too, Scramble and Omega run all the way for me !

The "farting" mouse in Radar Rat-race also held my 6 year old attention span for some time too as I recall !
