Introducing Henribarbu
« on: January 06, 2005, 10:38:25 AM »
Hi,
I'm a computer addict since I'm 10 years old.
First computer was a CPC464, the next an amiga500, then I got  A2000 and old IBM 386 with 12mb of ram(!!!).
At this time, I've switched to the i386 world.
Now, I come back with a towered A1200 with blizzPPC, mediator,..
An old dream comes true.
Anyway, AROS make me want to come back to the Amiga,
since a couple of year, I try to involve myself in the open source world.
I'm graduate in computer science, developper, ORACLE DBA and IBM aix administrator (amiga ppc friend) at this particular moment.
As I need motivation to work, the amiga community seems to be very motivated but need more developpers.
Now I see that we can write amiga applications that will run on OS3.1-> OS4, Pegasos, UAE and AROS.
If I succeed in managing time,
I would like to write some drivers to specific devices I own : Hoontech DSP24 (very cheap but HQ musicos sound card), Firewire + Iomega REV, ATI 9700 (if it is not done before),...
I never wrote a device driver (but other kind of pgm) but I have read a lot and hope to learn fast.
Porting basic driver from the linux world should be my first step but I hope to find help here.

Have a nice day.

Welcome! I hope it works out for you with the driver programming since Amiga lacks driver support.

@henribarbu

Oh Yeah!  bring it on!!!!  We Need FIREWIRE Drivers!!  Please!

any drivers you can make we dont have is TOTALLY welcome................its ridiculous to see such a great machine as the Amiga..lacking drivers.

And even if some exist already.......maybe you can make better ones???

Welcome Back DUDE!!!! :-)
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

Yeah, welcome back to the Amiga scene. I have only seen you once but to be honest, I was impressed by your skills !! I am sure you are capable of doing things that most of us can only dream of  :-)
