easynet wireless networkcard
« on: December 12, 2012, 02:27:33 PM »
Got my easynet pcmcia wireless networkcard yesterday.
But i think it's broken or else my pcmcia port is not working.

I put the amiga off, insert the wireless card turned the amiga back on. There should illuminate a green "link" light, according to the manual but nothings happening?

The card is from orinoco
Amiga 500 + A590 + a502 memory expansion.

Finally i have some response from the wirelesscard, but as soon as i want to go online, my amiga freezes.
It seems to be a known problem with miami. Is there a solution?

It could be a conflict with your router. Does it still lock up if your router is powered off? It would also help for this test if there are no other routers in range, but I realise this might be impractical in some locations.

Amigakit sells the PCMCIA wireless card and also a program called "EasyNet."  It is a graphical (kinda) front-end for AmiTCP 3.0b and acts like Miami;  keep in mind that while Miami & MiamiDX support LPR printer devices (allowing printing over your network) AmiTCP does not.  There is a "sticky" discussion about using wireless cards and Miami on the AmiOracle Forum of AmiBay.

You can obtain a full working copy (2 disk) of AmiTCP 4.23 from the web, but don't expect it to work.  A "key file" for MiamiDX is out there too, and gives full functionality. Same for IBrowse2.4 and Voyager 3.22.
