Description: This is the working prototype of the homebrew A500 IDE interface which attaches to the side expansion connector of the A500 or A1000 (top view).
The small board on the right shows the prototype 14Mhz accelerator hack for the 68000.

Yes it is easy but it really needs a buffered interface to increase cable length. Also, it's not autobooting but somewhat like the A2090 it can be set up to load the device driver from floppy and transfer control to the HDD to continue the boot sequence.
The interface also supports ATAPI devices like CD-ROM's, master and slave.
I actually built this interface years ago along with various A1000 projects but there are no plans to expand or do anything with these projects at this time. I also posted two other pictures of the interface, one of which is a  second more compact prototype that plugs directly into the CPU slot and has a passthrough for the CPU and the other shows the wiring on the underside of the first prototype. If the other pics don't show up I'll repost them.

The IDE looks really simple.  Are you going to market and sell them?  Kits?
