| darksun9210 Posts:1317 | May 14, 2008, 05:56:21 PM i had an A4000T kitted out with a Digital Broadcaster32Elite, and AD516. i hunted for ages to get the soundstage to go with it, but alas. money troubles, and sold up the lot. The DB32 captured each field of the interlaced frame at upto 320Kbtyes per field at 50Hz Pal, or 60Hz NTSC in motion jpeg format. you could extract the fields from the stream, and de-interlace them, then write them back as a full frame. usually using arexx scripts and something like ImageFX. to then re-bind the individual frames, and audio stream into an Mpeg stream took more hoursepower than my (at the time) 060 or PPC had, so i ended up farming frames out out to a PC over the network to re-encode. basicly a really nice system, but so underpowered for that kind of work. i think the soundstage had a set of DSP's onboard for real time effects rendering, and characture generation... *sigh* happy days... |

| November 22, 2006, 03:07:53 PM For PAL you can capture full motion video using a VLab motion card. There were also 2 professional cards released but those costed a fortune and are not very common (the Broadcaster32 and Elite versions). |

| November 10, 2006, 11:18:36 PM Can't the Picasso-IV's video encoder 'Pablo-IV' make ANIM5/CDXL animations or even the 'Paloma-IV' TV tuner? Surely there is a way to capture video... the old PCMCIA based ProGrab24RT could do it (if on a smaller scale) on A1200... |

The only good way to capture video on an Amiga now is with the Video Toaster Flyer made by Newtek. It only works with a A3000(T) or A4000(T) but wont capture to MPEG (Newtek uses there own compression format Better then MPEG) but just stream that to a PC capture card and away you go. |

I have 3 VHS tapes full of Bad Influence recodings (people used to record the end credits for the data-blast). I seem to remember the feature on the CD32's FMV cart, the A1200 playing Zool and cheats for Alfred the Chicken by NamRood (the backward DoorMan!) Is there a way an Amiga can take streaming video off VHS for example and make an MPEG? Maybe an A4000 system? |

| Framiga Posts:4096 | February 14, 2006, 02:18:07 PM ahhh yes . . . online video editing. Amiga used as VCR edit controller. Nothing to do with NLE, obviously. (was called Director cut or so) It was an interesting way (A-B roll, mark scenes and so) to edit via vlanc or something. |
