"unable to open miami.library version 8" ?!

This one seems weird as most questions / discussions I read about Miami are allways about keys or getting it to work. In this case I don't even seem to be able to install it correctly (did got it working couple of years ago but that was a long time...)...

I fired up my A1200 today and couldn't use miamiping cause it gives the above message. I looked through the archive on aminet and some other places and it seems to be the same as mine. There's no "miami.library" in it so I thought it was a bad install, but results are the same after reinstalling. One weird thing I got was the utility programs files were all flagged as non executable.

Was Miami in an online state, or at least running, when you issued the miamiping command?  IIRC, the miami.library is only available when Miami is running, and is not a real library in terms of being a file in LIBS:.

That would explain it all as I was just starting to do some checking by pinging myself to see if everything was ok...
