Description: This is a grab of my WB after installing Elena Novaretti's excellent PowerIcons, which allows the use of true colour PNG icons on Amiga OS 3.5/3.9. The icons shown are from the Crystal collection found at www.everaldo.com, the backdrop is from www.kde-look.org, this is running on an A1200 060/75MHz with a Mediator/Voodoo 3 3000 and OS 3.9.

I just gave it nine.

Perhaps a jealous user is trying to drag the score down :-?

Very nice. I agree with Leirbag, though - you really should get VisualPrefs.

I want a 75Mhz A1200 now.

Who the hell gave this such a low rating?  :-?

Real NICE!!!  but get Visual Prefs and Birdie for the Icing on the cake!

They will make your window borders look like OS 4

those old window borders are a litte distracting.

You wont regret getting Visual Prefs.real easy to use.

For the stuff I work with, an FPU is a must. If I had to choose, I'd go for the slower 060 with the FPU.

Incidentally, the full 060 is extremely good at floating point, far faster than the full 040 (by much more than the clockspeed increase).

I use an Apollo 1260 060LC/75MHz (no FPU), I think the trade off is worthwhile overall (although I havn't used an 060 with FPU before, so can't be certain). These Apollo's were also relatively cheap compared to slower 060 boards with FPUs - not sure if they're still selling new, got mine from Eyetech. Having no FPU can be annoying sometimes when software requires one - you generally have to avoid custom 060 software installs and go for generic/68000 executables. The only two problems I've come across are Quake and mp3 encoders which won't run without an FPU :-( .

IIRC you can clock an 060 at 75MHz but timing issues mean you can't have an FPU. 75MHz 060 cards were sold sometime in'99/'00, maybe by Apollo, I don't remember exactly. Some people consider it a fair trade-off. I'll dig up my old AFs and see if I can find the review of that board. If I remember, that is... ;-)

How did you get your A1200 to run at 75mhz?

NICE!

I want a desktop looking like that. Are there Icons for winblows that make the windows folder icons as groovy as them?
