Did anyone who watched the Doctor Who episode "The Impossible Planet" (aired Sat. 3rd June here in England) notice the DooM door-opening sound? I heard it in the bit where the guy in the blue shirt one the space station (Toby I think) was wandering alone through a corridor.

don't give anything away. here in the USA we are only up to the end of the first season. in fact next friday should be the last episode.

Yeah, don't spoil it for us! :-)
(I've actually seen all of Season 1 already, thanks to some recordings of the Canadian broadcast that made it my way. Still haven't seen any Season 2 though)
Back on topic, I've noticed sounds pulled from games all over television and film - the elevator sound from Quake seems to be a particularly popular one.

I haven't noticed any others, maybe I will have to watch them all again :-)
If you are a fan of first person shooters, particularly DooM, you should definitely watch the episode The Impossible Planet, as the whole feel was very DooM-like, and was definitely inspired by the game, which I'm sure is why they used the sample from the game. I think it was the best episode so far (including series 1).
Going to shut up now before I spoil it :-)

i had my doubts beforehand but Tennant is excellent as the doctor. he retains some of the 9th doctor's charm while acting very "alien." and yes that episode was very "doomish" though i didn't make the connection while watching it.

I haven't seen dr who yet, but I've often noticed that in-game sounds are being used in film and series.
