I'm curious about the windows partially outside the screen feature as was reported when news first broke about this 3.1.4 update. Is this feature still going to be released and can you tell just a little bit about this feature.

'I for one have been waiting eagerly for this update ever since it was announced - granted I use 3.1 today so for those of you using non retro versions it may not be such a big thing, but for me it serves as a way to fix bugs while still keeping it as original as possible

Another question (and thanks for the comprehensive answer to my last):  Is stderr redirection fixed ( or should I say implemented) both in the shell but also in dos.library / execute. Because it isn't working in 3.1.

well my point is that even pr_CES or the tags for Error was never implemented afaict, so there is actually non functional API in 3.1- hence my question about it being fixed.

I know it's impossible to fix old programs, but first step would be the os actualy allowing it.

Anyway thanks for your answer - I know what to expect now - and still looking forward to buying it

Well, please define "implemented". Yes, pr_CES is of course "implemented". It sits there, waiting to be used. I can ensure you that the shell also fills it if you redirect stderr with *>, but that doesn't help if programs do not pick it up. We cannot fix that, of course.
Ok that is not what my research showed me happening but cool, I'll try again

If the question is: Did we actually touch dos.library? No, not this time. We already attacked one dragon in 3.1.4. (which is graphics, now at 45.27), and that is one monster enough for me this time. There is a tiny patch for dos in SetPatch, and quite some improvements in dos handlers, but Tripos itself remained untouched. This time.
All your work is appreciated

So what exactly is the difference between the various ROMs.

I have an A1000 that I'd like to twinkick
But I'm also going to install vampire on it later on.

So would I need two different versions or..?
Not to speak of trying it out in  UAE
Will one version fail where anothe one works and vice versa?

I really would like to what the differences are

You need to update the installation readme.

For installing the new intuition library you also need to copy the loadmodule from the modules file

It also seems like you need to do
C:LoadModule module libs:intuition.library

as romupdate will stop once it finds out filesystem is already v 46
