Thank you, Thomas Richter! I honestly did not try the "Direct SCSI" Flag, although I did see it. I will try that right away. Thanks for the help.

Edit - checking the direct SCSI switch did the trick. All is well

I bought this for Minimig, but I cannot legally use it.

You need to update the installation readme.

For installing the new intuition library you also need to copy the loadmodule from the modules file

It also seems like you need to do
C:LoadModule module libs:intuition.library

as romupdate will stop once it finds out filesystem is already v 46

Were you informed of this at Point of Sale?

If not then you are entitled to a full refund. In England at least. Dunno about in Viking country.

"or for which a legitimate version of AmigaOS was or is available."

Come on kolla, which OS did you use before on the Minimig? AtariTOS? Stop nitpicking, consider it as an A500 and use the package. How would you be able to write more rants if you don't have first hand experience of the thing? :D

Seriously Kolla?  <smh>
Stop wasting everyones time. AGAIN

Anyway, I apologize for not reading all of the previous pages, but the question I have is if I want to use this on my A1200 and my A3000 I need to order it twice?  Is this correct?  Also, will this version run with the ROMs I currently have installed or do I need new ones?

Yes. Two systems, two licenses, and two different(!) kickstarts, and also two different sets of modules (and module disks). For example, the scsi.device is different, and the A3000 contains additional components for configuring its RAM timing that will not work on the A1200.

Also, will this version run with the ROMs I currently have installed or do I need new ones?
This depends on your liking. Two options exist: One with the current ROMs and a RAM-Upgrade only. This version requires a reboot like 3.9 did, and one version which contains a ROM image (at this time). Separate ROMs will become available from dealers. If you buy physical ROMs and disks from a dealer, this will contain a serial number which will allow you to download the electronic edition as well.

And what is the situation with picture.datatype? AFAIK the OS 3.9 version has one unique important feature: it's a fat binary (m68k + PPC).

The picture datatype is a slim version again, only 68K. But the same features, plus a couple of bug fixes on the way.

Very nice. Any information about when this will become available completely with the updated ROMs?

I afraid none of us here works for Hyperion. I believe it all depends now on negotiations with dealers and how fast they can deliver.

Dunno about in Viking country.

In Viking country, such "easter egg" agreements are by their very nature void. Also void is any attempt at preventing software from running on hardware by terms of licenses - you can run whatever software you have bought on whatever hardware you own, even if it means modifying the software.

Such a clause in the "EULA" of this OS release is straight out pointless and bewildering.

If you have technical questions around this release, you may try it here - I'll try to look into them from time to time, all hoping that things don't go overboard, and I hope some members of the development and beta-tester team will do so as well.

First off - please let me say I'm really psyched about the update, and that I'm eager to get my hands on it as soon as the ROM chips are available to buy! I think it's nothing short of commendable of you guys to show the AmigaOS community the kind of devotion you have. Hopefully, the recent surge of interest in AmigaOS hardware should reflect back on the sales, too. Here's hoping it'll be the success it truely deserves to be!

Now, and for my question - I happen to have a CD32, and with a bit of luck I'll have a CDTV sometime in the near future, too. Are there any plans to bring these platforms on par with the rest of the MC680x0-based AmigaOS systems?

Please pass on my very best to the rest of the team - it's an outstanding piece of work and again, the community has every reason to feel grateful for all of your work!
Karate, Jerry. Karate. It's the lifetime pursuit of balance and harmony.
