User manual info for MacroSystem Falcon 1240/60 accelerator card

Ok...ok...I know...it's a long shot. These cards are bloody rare. I've googled, read, investigated, compared...and found a small amount of info here and there. But I'd like some more.

If anyone has any original documentation such as a user manual or similar I would so like to hear from you Plus any other good evidence on jumper settings and so on.

I'm trying to work out the 060 upgrade method. And I've got the inkling that it'd be easy to do as well! And also some info on the SCSI board/setup would be great too!

Any help greatly appreciated!

I hate it when you've searched and not found the info you're after. And then you ask a question. And someone gives you an answer. But it's not an answer to your actual question. (please don't take my comment too seriously - I have an odd sense of humour ).

It'll be a tricky one. They are a genuinely rare card. And so the info I'm after is likely to be even rarer. There would've been very little SCSI adaptors sold. And I have an inkling the 060 upgrade never made it to the market. In saying that if it was going to be a user installed kit, it can't have been that complex. That's why some info on the jumper settings may help narrow things down. I suspect the HD jumpers near the CPU are highly likely to be involved. The CPU socket is already 060 compatible. Ultimately if it was just a jumper change and a CPU change that would be awesome.

No docs. There's a readme there with info that backs up some of the claims surrounding the card - but nothing definitive.

I have seen in my searching a unit that sold with a printed user manual. I'll try to contact that person too.

no info on manual for the Falcon -A1200 but found a manual for the WarpEngine -A4000
but I do not think it will be of much use since it does not say 040/060

If the card is upgradeable, i suspect it may need a new rom as well as 3.3v regulator similar to the apollo card upgrades(unless its already onboard can be active with just a jumper change).
you could test this by powering the card up and and checking the other jumper pins for 3.3v instead of 5v.
in the worst case if it is a LC chip on board, a safe upgrade would be a 040/40mhz full part to replace it. i think the latest mask is l88m.

independent MacroSystem US and has never been seen by MacroSystem
Germany. The former CEO and Tech-Support know this "WarpEngine for
A-1200" only by it´s name. The contact to the producer Bob Tingley was
lost at this time.

Maybe you can find him or the WarpEnging Designer Steven L. Kelsey - but
I don´t even know if anyone at MacroSystem.US knows them nowadays.

Amiga days, the US Distributor of MacroSystem Products was Robert
Tingley with his company "Noahji's", later "DraCo Systems", later
"MacroSystem". He developed Warp Engine and Falcon independently from
MacroSystem Germany and just used the name for these products.

After he vanished - the distribution was switched to Eric Kloor,
building "MacroSystem US".

All information and development documentations of the early products
vanished with Robert Tingley. I don´t think MacroSystem US has any hint
where to find him. :-(

I find some of the above confusing.
Eric Kloor was CEO Macrosystems U.S. when it WAS called Noahji's. I should know. I have his own personal h/w now.

You might write to Macrosystems U.S. and make it to the attention of Eric Kloor.
