BTW: what did you use to extract his voice sooooo cleanly and clearly?!? lol

I just used Audio Hijack Pro to record my system audio and then played the YouTube video he played.

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/I f!@#ing hate the way he pronounces 'possible' too.
Yeah, it's pretty weird!

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/And I never noticed how, at the end of '...makes it happen'... the way he "sings" 'happen', sounds like he's really saying 'heaven'...
I can't remember what the original sounded like, but I've got a feeling this effect is something to do with the way I processed the vocal track. I used Recycle to slice the vocals up into individual syllables so I could change the temp without changing the pitch or sample rate. I didn't do a very good job, but I couldn't be bothered to do it more precisely - plus he's already mucked the recording up with his ham-fisted attempt to Autotune it.

TotalRecorder is great for that sort of thing on PC.  Look up "streamrippers," they probably have them for Mac too (unless Steve Jobs doesn't allow that sort of behavior.)

What does it have to do with Steve Jobs?

Was thinking Motorollin extracted just his voice from a tune...

Well you *can* do it that way by filtering out all the other frequencies, but it's usually quite messy as there's inevitably overlap between the frequencies in the voice and those in other instruments. That means you either have to leave some of the backing in, or carve out frequencies with the ranges used in the voice, which alters the sound of the vocals. Doomy's original version was vocals only, so I just recorded it.

Actually, that's pretty well produced.

Thanks :)

Did you use any pitch correction on his voice?

No, he did that himself. I don't think he did a particularly good job, but over-pitch-corrected vocals seem to be a feature of that style of music, so it actually works rather well.
