History Channel just claimed Playstation 1st disk based system

I have History Channel on in the background and something caught my ear. They just said something to the effect "The Playstation was released in 1994 and was the first disk based system".

Eeer, what happened to the CDTV in 1991 or even the Philips CD-i in 1991 ??

Disc not disk.

In this context disc meant CD/DVD.
