Title: #amiga.org CGI interface dead link
Post by: Linchpin on May 21, 2004, 05:45:32 PM
Hey chaps :-)

Any idea when / if the CGI IRC interface is going to work again?

Cyberfingers portal has gone too :-(

Cheers

Kev

Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/cgiirc/irc.cgi was not found on this server. :(

If anyone has the server info then I can still visit though...

webchat org or webnet isnt in my IRC server list though

Kev,

The problem is the fact that the link isn't on our server, so we can't really control whether or not it's working.

Would it not be possible to run the CGI:IRC script on a.org's server(s)? Or would that give too much CPU load?

It's been dead for quite a while now :(

Unfortunately i've lost the guys email address somewhere along the line, and he never comes to the channel :|

If anyone knows him, Tom something aka. Neofree, please let him know, thanks.

--edit--
This doesn't help Amiga-only or firewalled users much, sorry about that, but here (http://chat.webmaster.com/chat.htm?@channel=%23amiga.org) is a temporary solution for people with Java enabled browsers.

Yeah - i was aware your moving hosts but the link on amiga.org has been dead as long as i can remember.

Maybe a good idea to change it or remove it?

I hope it comes back, its the only way I've been able to get chat working through the firewall at work.

I'm not one for self-promotion so I'm definitely not going to mention that the cgiirc thingy is courtesy of me  :-D http://www.cyberfingers.com

Oh it appears I do like self-promotion
