I recently dusted off my Amiga 4000 and brought her back to life. :-)
(Last time it was powered up before this was in 2005.)
The A4000 has a Fastlane Z3 (z3scsi.device is version 5.1034) inside it, but the SCSI part of it hasn't been in use since I got myself a Cyberstorm PPC many years ago.
Anyway, now I have a PROM programmer (Dataman S4) and a 32-pin PLCC adapter for it, so all I need now is a chip to program, and I could upgrade the Fastlane Z3.
I have read up on all threads about the Fastlane Z3 and upgrades here, and have a couple of questions:
- is version 8.5 of the Fastlane Z3 ROM still the newest one?
- are there EEPROM chips which could be used as drop-in replacements for the 27C256 EPROM?
If not, I'll just go ahead and order a few EPROMs (the one currently in my Fastlane is a CY27C256-70JC).
