passive cooler on BvisionPPC
« on: December 11, 2002, 10:55:10 AM »
Hi all,
Before throughing out an old 486 from work, I found a kind of zalman passive cooler attached to the intel chip.
Could I stick it onto the permedia2 chip to cool it down ?
(I have no experience with passive cooler)

Sure you could. All it is a piece of aluminium to radiate off heat, nothing special! As long as you have the right kind of cooler glue to stick it on, and you make sure the cooler itself doesn't touch and short any contacts around it, there's no reason why it wouldn't work.
