Has anyone done this? The slingshot looks like it would be easy and cheap to copy... assuming the edge connectors are still available.

I have one 86-pin and 1 100-pin connector left and since I just sold my slingshot... am thinking I might wire this baby up. The Slingshot worked like a charm on my A1000 and A500 using an A2091 card. I guess the 74LSxx chip isn't needed in all cases - but wouldn't be hard to add either. Heck, not all of the pins are even connected to the I.C.

The biggest problem I can see is reproducing the connectors that plugged into the side of the A500, that is assuming there's no blueprints and/or moulds of the originals.

Isn't the connector the same as for example, and ISA or Zorro connector, just a different number of pins? Could one be easily hacked together by cutting the ends of of two of them and lining them up right?

Yes, or tons can be found on battery-wrecked A2000 boards (A500 expansion slot is the same size as the CPU slot on an A2000.)

You can also get connectors from most electronic shops like frys. You just need to cut them. I did several attempts at boards with them on my A1000 back in the day. I just saw the edge connectors at Fry's this last weekend so they are still used for something.

You can also salvage connectors from ancient pc mobos.... the ones that had ISA slots. Then cut & paste them together to make the 86 & 100 pin connectors.
There are plans for a single slot adapter on Aminet.

Alright guys. If we can keep this sale within the U.S. I'll offer my new, never used connectors for $23 shipped (it's what I paid for 'em). I'll also include the schematic I printed out from Aminet. It's a printout from my A2500 via Deneb, TurboPrint and my modern Pixma printer for maximum legacy enjoyment. Ohh.... aahhh... :lol:

If someone were to make a batch of these, how many people would be interested in one? What's a decent price to pay for one?
The amiga hardware guide says that the pass-through version has limited use because of the absence of a buster chip. What can be plugged into the pro version? Is it worth having the pro version with the card standing up, or would it be more practical to have the zorro card flat because a pass-through connector would be sort of useless?
Same questions for the finland ide adapter.
I'm saying this because I may have found someone to make a batch for us.
