Another World
« on: August 29, 2006, 03:20:40 PM »
Hi, can any one, help???

i am stuck in level 10, whene, i must kill the guard, whene we sends fireballs.

i have this solution:

"LEVEL 10.
----------

ACCESS CODE: FIEI.
------------------

Go left and kill the guard. Go right and up the stairs, then kill the guard on the left at  the  top  of  the stairs. Jump across right, blast the two doors down and  get  your  blaster  ready to fire at the last door as the shield fades. Accurate timing and speed are needed to kill the guard ( alternatively, you  can  blast the last door, shield, jump the fireballs and the fire to kill the guard ).
Go right, blast the door, right, then jump up to charge your gun.
Go right and watch the reflection  of  the  guard on the bottom of the green sphere -  fire  at  the  sphere  when  the  guards reflection is directly under it. Left to  the  stairs,  go  down them, then down and right to the pool. Swim across, get out and find the guard dead. Go right."

but i can't do it

This sounds like a cool game.  Is it actually on the Amiga or a new game?

Just curious,

Thanks,

Mike

irishmike,

Another world is now abandonware
you can download the game here:

bye, Laser

Do not post links or requests for warez.
Warez in our definition is illegal software up to and including "abandonware". The exception is if the person is KNOWN to have the legal right to distribute said software. This is not debatable.

Laser : AnotherWorld seems not abandonware (i'll check with Eric Chahi).

You could find a special- rebuild amiga version on Amigaforever Premium 2006 (Cloanto) and classic amiga version on Amiga Classix 4 CDRom compilation.

@Laser

Sorry for the edit. I have my own personal feelings about "abandonware" when it comes to old computers, but site policy MUST be enforced on this issue.

BTW: Another World is also known as "Out of This World".

I don't remember that exact part of the game, but I remember the part with the green sphere that is mentioned after the section you bolded.

When I first played through the game, I managed to kill that guard (whom you are supposed to kill with the green sphere) by bouncing one of his fireballs back at him, and managing to time it so that the fireball went through the doors and toasted him! :)  Then after leaving and re-entering that screen, there were shards of glass from the sphere on the ground, which I couldn't figure out until I found the room with the spheres and one was missing.

This was a great game, it was probably the most fun I had with my A500 to that point...  it was a bit short though.

I remember seeing it first on the PC's at school, and there seemed to be a few scenes in the PC version (maybe they were cut scenes?) that I didn't find in the Amiga port.

I think I'm going to have to load up UAE and play that level .. I'll see if I can get past the part you're stuck at :)

Yep, Another World was an absolutely terrific game - a wonderfully cinematic feel to it that even today few titles
can match - although Half-Life comes close.

The PC (and SNES) versions were slightly longer, with the extra scenes developing the story further.

I am still curious to hear more about the 'special build' that is included with AmigaForever 2006.  If anyone has any further information as to what is improved/changed, I would be most appreciative.

Cheers,
James

Best version I think by far is the one for Sega CD, which includes both Heart of the Alien (Another World 2) and Out of this World (Another World 1)

The music is fantastic and definately adds to the gameplay. :-)

1NOM155, thank you for your response, however I am curious about the special Amiga build, not this special edition for Windows.

Take care,
James
