FMV PAL or NTSC specific, and what is reasonable pricing?
« on: April 12, 2009, 11:48:14 PM »
Are the CD32 FMV modules specific to PAL and NTSC?

Is ~US$215 a worthwhile purchase (it's 150 pound, but I don't recall off-hand how to create that symbole.)

Thats a good price for it, if you value your time and how many years it takes to locate one of these!

It is both PAL and NTSC.   It's a beautiful device.  You can burn VideoCD's from a DVD on a PC and convert all your DVD movies..... YOu can also convert BlueRay to VCD and get better quality VCD's than even the companies that make them themselves.

If you dont want to buy it...let me know.... I will buy it :-)
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

Are FMV videos currently being made? Haven't seen them in a looooong time out in public. Egghead software & Babbages used to stock 'em.

BTW: those international characters such as the £ can be set up in your browser. Or are probably already installed. Just hit CTRL or option, etc. with various letters to pull the appropriate symbol up. For my Mac, British Pound Sterling symbol is [shift] 3.

There's one on ebay.co.uk for 150 pound.  £150 BIN.  I don't have the money, otherwise I would get it. *sigh*

save: VCD's are still being made... but they were never big in the US. vcdgallery.com , and realvcd.com are a couple of sites that have them.

CLS2086: wow, you got a good deal! Weren't there only 5000 FMV units made? Man, I want one...

Very popular in China where you could get any movie (pirated) on VCD for like 5 or 10 cents.
