Amiga 3000 - keyboard no work
« on: May 27, 2016, 02:03:46 AM »
Have an A4000 keyboard, and finally got an adapter from amigakit.us that allows me to connect it to the A3000.

This A3000 is a rescue that had some battery damage. It boots though without a keyboard plugged in. Mouse works, so I can run SysInfo and get results.

Sadly, when I first powered it up the A3000 with the keyboard plugged in it would not boot. If I plug it in while the A3000 is booting normally, the computer resets.

Any idea what I can do here?

Edit: The A4000 keyboard is also a rescue so I have no idea if it works.

Bleh, this computer just acts so weird. Keyboard working now. Then the floppy drive stopped...I connected the floppy to my A1200 and it's fine with same disks. Then floppy working again.

Well I am fairly certain the video deinterlacer circuitry is bad due to the extensive battery corrosion damage (and the fact that it doesn't work lol). But I don't know why it would affect other items than the video deinterlacer.

The PSU does sometimes turn off but maybe once out of every 20 tries to boot. It's difficult to say with so much damage to this motherboard, I am surprised it works at all.
