MUI 5.0-2018R1 for AmigaOS4/PPC and AmigaOS3/m68k released
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:02:36 PM »
The MUI for AmigaOS development team is proud to announce the immediate release of version 5.0-2018R1 of the Magic User Interface for AmigaOS4/PPC and AmigaOS3/m68k. Please find the release archives in our download section.

Like all former releases a keyfile is required to enable all available settings. Old keyfiles from MUI 3.8 can be used without any restriction.

Please note that MUI5 for AmigaOS3/m68k is definitely targeted at powerful systems with a fast CPU and a fast graphic board. Although it is still possible to run this release on a real 68k machine an emulation like WinUAE is very highly recommended. Also colormapped screens with 256 colors at most are still supported, but MUI5 makes heavy use of fancy truecolor images and effects which cannot be provided on colormapped screens with the full range of possibilities.

A complete changelog is available here.

I like that they include this disclaimer now.  :)

From previous threads on this subject, those two systems should be sufficient.

What 68k programs depend on this version that won't run on proper MUI3.8?

It Should do it.
My 060 is clocked at 50mhz and it runs so fine that i wish i could run it on all my classic amigas.
A fast HDD might also be needed for best experience. I use scsi on my csppc.

IBrowse 2.5 maybe? That's about it, AFAIK.

Great thing! Now we have 2 different MUI5 versions. One for AmigaOS 3.x and AmigaOS 4. The other for MorphOS only. Both aims at the same goals, yet develops in different ways.

What is going on?
I love and respect people which care! And not those with
