In order to gain access to the source you're undoubtedly required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and a non-compete clause.

BTW since MorphOS is not a legal entity, if you work on AmigaOS, working on MorphOS will not be considered as working on competitive clause.

It's evident that AmigaOS project is stagnated and falling behind. The promised basic features are still not available to end users. Users are stuck to flaky USB1, old Workbench, lacking 3D support, and installing various 68k components to get even the basic functionality one might expect (say console with review buffer). Promises of release or the component being in beta testing doesn't quite do it.

I personally don't have any interest at AmigaOS anymore. There's nothing AmigaOS could offer that wouldn't be implemented in a better way elsewhere. The "designers" have taken it to the directions I don't want to follow (adding pointless interfaces, adding pointless alien APIs, breaking both source and binary compatibility, adding "shared objects" that are not shared etc).

AmigaOS might want me, but I don't want AmigaOS.

Just like a lot of people (you included) noticed "CBM hero accuses MorphOS of being illegal" two weeks ago and it suddenly had a lot more weight than the 500 times it had been claimed by other people in the past.

These claims had been circulating for 10 years. It had been a long time they had resurfaced, and I was quite disappointed to learn that Mr Haynie was the one to bring it up again. I decided to challenge him to produce the evidence and none was presented. Any further such claims without proof can now be easily discredited as FUD that they are. This new situation is way better than such claims going unchallenged.

Now that this is settled: I wanted to explain why I consider AmigaOS dead in the current path and form. If I had to spell out some uncomfortable facts to do that, so be it.

As numerous other people in this thread I explained why I am not interested. Why certain individuals took exception to what I said, I don't know.

Now how would you feel if the thread title was 'MOS wants you !' & every second post was some bloke who has absolutely no interest in MOS posting FUD on the thread.

How were why posts FUD?

If someone would post in that thread explaining why he wouldn't be interested I'd have no issues with that.
