To repeat something I wrote elsewhere about this:
Regarding personal information: For example in finland a website is mandated by
law to maintain a
privacy policy document which will explain the contact information of the registry maintainer, the specifics about the actual information maintained, the purpose for maintaining the registry, and to who and under what circumstances can the information be disclosed.
I'm sure having such document around would alleviate some fears people have about disclosing their private information.
