A530 #4 - final touch | ||

Description: Last layout (http://www.amiga.org/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=4149&cid=7) was more proof of concept than a final, optimized approach. Now, armed with some spare time and some good vibes on forthcoming Indivision ECS, I made some changes and additions: - old stripboard has been replaced with another one which leaves more space for CF card access - there's a fully functional 68882 FPU running at 40MHz, too - previous IDE-CF adapter (DeLock) had issuess supporting CF volumes larger than 512MB, so low-cost no-name replacement proved more capable - same goes with new 2Gb SanDisk CF card instead of old 512Mb used in former layout - as promised before, CPU got heatsink and fan - stock SCSI ribbon cable has been replaced with custom made which allows bending at proper angle Overall, whole setup is more compact than ever, with better handling of case's top cover. Noise coming from both fans are waaay below usual, classic HDD pitches. Same could be said for sense of heat, nothing even close to warm definition (of course, under decent CPU load). All being said, this would conclude A530 "make-up", at least for this year.
