Team17 - Retro Interview Series
« on: October 16, 2018, 09:18:16 PM »
Hey everyone, I hope you don't mind me positing this here - especially as a first time poster - but I think it will be relevant to a few Amiga gamers.

I work at Team17 and just this September we released our 100th game. Check out the video we made, featuring some old favourites, to celebrate...

We've also been revisiting each of those 100 games over on Team17.com and, wherever possible, interviewing the developers responsible for them. If you're interested in finding out more about some classic Amiga games then I'd love if you check out these chapters...

1991 & 1992 - Full Contact, Alien Breed, Project-X, Assassin, Alien Breed: Special Edition

1993 - Body Blows, Superfrog, Project-X Special Edition, F17 Challenge, Qwak, Cardiaxx, Overdrive, Alien Breed II

1994 - Body Blows Galactic, Apache, Assassin Special Edition, Arcade Pool, Ultimate Body Blows, Apidya, Super Stardust, Alien Breed: Tower Assault

1995 - ATR, Kingpin, Alien Breed 3D, Worms

1996 - The Speris Legacy, Alien Breed 3D II

All the other Team17 games are covered too, so there's lots to read about if you're into retro in general and we're aiming to publish a chapter a week so our 1997/98 genre should be live soon featuring Worms: The Directors Cut and Nightlong (kind of an Amiga game).

Anyway, I really hope this is the sort of thing you'd appreciate knowing about. If you do read any of them, I'd love to hear your thoughts too. We appreciate any and all feedback.

I haven't scarpered! Got some email notifications of your responses this morning.

I'm really glad some of you have enjoyed the articles. There's still more to come - but obviously about our more recent games. But I'm sure there will be some other retro activity on our channels if you follow those.

As for a new release on Amiga. It's extremely unlikely. Something semi-official is probably the most likely outcome. For example, if someone in the community wanted to create an Amiga port or demake of one of our games then we might give the nod of approval for that. But they'd have to ask us first, and I can't make any promises here. I agree it would be cool though!

And regarding AB3DII - I recorded the footage in Amiga Forever, emulating an A1200 with 4mb or ram and an 060 accelerator. So I'm not sure why it's so jerky. I only ever had a basic A1200 myself back in the day so I'm not really in a position to judge how accurate the emulation was I'm afraid.
