Hi All
I have a Amiga 1200 that was working fine a few months ago, fired it up today and it doesn't want to boot from the Amiga Forever CF and gives a black screen and then drops video signal.
I have tried disconnecting the hdd cable and it boots to kickstart and will run a floppy disk.
Any ideas on where to start looking from a troubleshooting perspective?
Kind Regards

Hold both mouse buttons at boot and pick boot without startup-sequence.
Do you get a shell then?
If so. It seems your setup just has a screenmode selected that your monitor doesn’t like, you could try “delete envarc:sys/screenmode.prefs”, reboot and see if system comes up with default 4 colour PAL/NTSC hires mode.

Sounds like the CF card had died or data corruption, have you got access to another Cf card from a friend. oyu can also try booting it in WinUAE with a Cf adaptor to see if it is corrupt. oyu can aldo try to boot from floppy wit the Cf card in and see if its seen in workbench?

Maybe it's just validating the disk, sometimes takes time.

Yes I think you are correct. I have a compact card reader on my PC and it doesn't show any disk inserted when I put the CF card from the Amiga in. When I try a different card it works fine. Looks like my compact Flash is fried.
Do you have any link to how I create a new one by any chance?
