A brand name company may not produce everything they put their label on. It depends on if the company that "branded" the card versus the factory that actually made it; the Branding Company usually put out a list of specs, take bids and take the lowest cost items that meets their specs. Then they stick a label on it. If the specs don't list the internal circuitry of the CF card [or fill in the blank here] then the factory producing it are free to make it anyway they want.
