When I was running an Amiga User Group to Copy Disks I Uased an A1000 with 4 A1010's connected so I could quickly diplicate Fish Disks for the members. The A1010's definately allowed powered pass through.

Hi gang,

I just received yesterday my new (old) A500+ power supply (P/N = 312503-03 / specs : 400ma - 5V 4.5A / 12V 1A / 12 100mA) which should enable me to get ~35 W of power  instead of ~22 W for my A1200 and its 2 disc drives (see : http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/am..._supply_issues).

However, it does not solve the problem : the A1011 is still not recognized behind the A1010 even with this bigger power supply. The A1011 is still not powered.

So assuming the A1010 is power pass-through, I think it seems to be a limitation of the A1200 which can not handle more than two disc drives (1 internal + 1 external) since many of you confirmed that it works on A500/A500+/A600/A1000 configurations.

Hello,

Since my last post, I got the original Commodore A1010 drive documentation and it clearly says that the Amiga A1010 pass-through port is not powered.
