Indivision ECS V2 flickerfixer ribbon VGA cable

Just received my new A500 case from A1200.net and unfortunately the supplied ribbon cable with the VGA connector that came with the Indivision ECS V2 isn't long enough. Any idea if it would be a problem to extend the length of the ribbon cable? I don't want the connector hanging out loose out of the case. Want to go for a nice clean finish with the VGA connector.
