This is awesome news, however I havent yet been able to install it.
The .pkg won't even install on my system. Just error's out.

NTSC PS3 w/ Geohot cfw.

Going to try kmeaw cfw and see if that makes a difference.

Is this any faster than the version from a few years back? I was surprised at just how slow it was. X-UAE for Xbox1 was significantly faster although I guess due to being x86 based (ie. jit cpu emulation).

No problems getting it to work via Kmeaw cfw

Only tried one game so far (Superfrog) but it played well maybe a little to fast

Edit: Just tried Lotus Turbo Esprit and that played exactly as i remember it on a real amiga :)

Nitrous, do you have an ntsc ps3? I've read alot of people with ntsc machines cannot get it to run.

After installing kmeaw cfw, the package installs fine. I edited the cfg, and tried to run a couple games, its just quits back to xmb... :(

No my PS3 is a pal slim, I did notice a ntsc option in the config file maybe you could try changing that option, also I had to have my usb device in port 2 on my PS3.

i also had to use port 2 but to get it to use the cfg on usb i had to delete the cfg on the ps3 its self using ftp

also got it to work on geo's fw by using PKG_Signer_GUI

Did you use geohots lv2 patcher utility before running it?Many applications expect to run it first.

You mean Kmeaws lv2 patcher, no it worked without the patcher.

Is it easy to setup? Is there a nice step by step setup guide somewhere?

My port of 0.8.29.

How to set it up? It comes preinstalled with a config file on the HDD (UAE.CFG in uppercase), you'll only see if it you have an FTP server installed or a file manager.

It's set up by default to look for "kick13.rom" (lowercase) in the "uae" directory of the rightmost USB port, and for 2 adf images, game_disk01.adf and game_disk02.adf

So, create a directory "uae" on a flash drive, put those 3 files in there, and the game will run (not AGA though, without making your own config) from the USB port closest to the power button. If you have a "uae.cfg" file (lowercase) in the "uae" directory, it will use that instead.

Press the "Start" button to open a menu and choose a different image, change frameskip, reboot, or change joystick settings.

I have installed, UAE and roms... I have put ADF's and DMS's into a usb-stick... how can I load them, START does'nt seem to do anything? Same kickfile is working on Winuae

never mind, other usb-port did the trick

Is there any way to make a bootable DVD with UAE and 1000s of ADFs to burn and just run on any stock PS3?

Yes a real n00b question but all I do is play games on my PS3 and Blu-Ray, not touched any kind of Linux OS running on it at all.

If we have the keys surely a distro of a DVD ISO could be made and we just add our own ADFs we want some day?

E-UAE is installed on the PS3 harddrive so its easily accessible, no need to boot it from disc. Loading adf from cd or dvd shouldn't be a problem either, when I find my democollection dvd I let you you. If I have time I will transfer a few adf's into PS3 via FTP and see if it works.. but so far putting images on usb-stick has worked very nicely.

Yesterday I ran Turrican 2, Stunt car racer and a dozen of demos.. all of them worked without problems. I already downloaded a patch of stuff from Warlocks adf archive and will have a blast with them (and cold brewskies) later tonight hehe

ps. hang around at #dcs more ;)

Can you install it on a stock PS3 out of the box then?

Some sort of bootable fuss free DVD ISO would be nicer though for distribution to the average console gamer out there :).

You need a custom firmware that has the install pkg option.Custom firmwares can be found online,do not install 3.56 as sony did some nasty things and you cant go back to 3.55 easily. Now if you are too afraid you can just install the custom firmware install the applications and then go back to your official 3.55,now the applications wont be lost, and can be runned as they are signed.

I think the best install option would be to have the custom lv2 access application, along with the latest backup manager.

That way you can install official firmware after and still have the ability to play backups.
